The Three New Autonomous Regions in Papua
The DPR RI has endorsed a bill on the development of 3 regions in Papua . The choice was supported Thursday, June 30, 2022. With the section of the bill into regulation, it implies that as of now there are 5 territories in Papua, specifically Papua, West Papua , South Papua Province, Central Papua Province, and Papua Mountains Province. The local inclusion for South Papua Province comprises of Merauke Regency, Boven Digoel Regency, Mappi Regency and Asmat Regency. The local inclusion for Central Papua Province comprises of Nabire Regency, Puncak Jaya Regency, Paniai Regency, Mimika Regency, Puncak Jaya Regency, Dogiyai Regency, Intanjaya Regency and Deiyai Regency. In the interim, the provincial inclusion for the Mountains Province comprises of Jayawijaya Regency, Bintang Mountains Regency, Yahukimo Regency, Tolikara Regency, Central Mamberamo Regency, Yalimo Regency, Lanijaya Regency and Nduga Regency.
